Task Nineteen- Audience Research Two
Task Eighteen- Audience Research One
See Audience post, just before task 14 (research) for a photofit of my audience.
Task Seventeen (b)- Record Label Research
Task 15* - Genre Research
The above images are taken from a Razorlight video and The Kooks videos. This just gives me an idea of the types of shots that are usually used and the composition of the shots as well.
The video above is by The Kooks- She moves in her own way.
This is an example of an Indie video.
From this video and others i can see that the conventions of an indie video are pretty much simular to an alternate video, however indie videos are less extensive in the way that they use everyday items and situations as well as keeping the video to a minimal affect. This basically means that the video mainly focuses on the artist/ band and their music rather than the fancy video and the fame of being a singer.
Conventions -
Close up of the artist
Shots of the whole band
Every day locations
Low key lighting
Task Fifteen- Genre Research Three
The first line of images above are taken from You Me at Six video Underdog, the second line is taken from The Script video Nothing and the last is taken from Oasis Wonderwall.
I choose these three videos as they are all in different subgenres within the alternate genre.
The conventions of a Alternative rock video as follows:
Close ups of instruments
Long shots of the band
Close ups of all of the members in the band
Costume wise they wear skinny jeans with patterned t-shirts or shirts and scarfs
There is a contrast between light and dark
Loads of close ups of the main singer to create a moment of pleasure for the audience
Usually follows a narrative or a concept
Dark clothing
Range of Instruments

Audience
The above pictures are photos of the sort of audience that I am hoping to capture with my band. This person likes spending time with friends, going out to the cinema, going to the park, parties and other things that young teenagers like to do.
This type of audience is still at school, or is in higher education. She probably works so that she can earn more money. Which is then spent on make up, clothes, concert tickets, evenings out.
